Sweeney Playground
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTs

As Principal in Charge while at Stoss, Scott Bishop lead the project for Sweeney Playground. The playground is a complete redesign of an existing half-acre playground located in South Boston. As a part of the City of Boston’s Capital Improvement Plan, the park was renovated in order to create a multifaceted landscape for all to enjoy.
The project included interactive water-based features, rope structures for climbing, newly designed lighting, and a renovation of the existing basketball court. It features topographic elements that create fluctuations in the landscape, while incorporating stormwater infiltration through permeable surfaces and an infiltration basin.
